I got the border idea from American Patchwork and Quilting October 2010 issue. It's the quilt on the cover. I did use the same size squares as in the blocks of the quilt (1 3/4 inches , 1 square dark - 3 squares color and another square dark to frame it.), you could strip piece and cut. then just reassemble in a stairstep fashion and trim the corners off of the dark sqares to straighten the edges and to turn it on point. Hope this helps :)

She ended up not getting the quilt after all. I was trying to find a spot that was not blazing sun to take the picture, but I could not keep her off it. And who could resist that face?
