A tip I use as a new quilter is to choose a pattern and draw it out on graph paper.

These are nice quilts! I would have loved a neighbor like you when I was young! We are on such a busy street and without any kids close but I trhink it would be fun to have kids around more!

Thank you for the graph paper tip! Great idea. As for kids, I am a retired teacher and now volunteer in our local school to read stories to two kids just once a week. i loved it and will do it again this year. Also, I did a "nine square" project with kids from my class and had so many kids sign up I had to have 4 groups! Check with your local library, school, after school care center or scouts and see if they are interested. Just once a week can get you in contact with kids. It is lots of fun. At first it seems scary but then it is soooo wonderful. One last thing…hospitals are often in need of small blankets for cancer patients. You can make a few and then go visit.

What a great neighbor you are. Reminds me of a neighbor I had when I was a little girl. She made my twin baby dolls dresses one day while I took a nap. When I woke up the babies were right beside me dressed in their new outfits. I was so happy and loved her so much for doing that for me. So your neighbors will remember with fondness your act of kindness in making them these quilts.

What a great idea! that was so nice of you. I know they will wear them out. Be prepared for their folks to ask for a quilt. Good job!!

What pretty quilts! And what a nice, sweet thing to do. Those children will never forget you, and I am sure they will cherish those beautiful quilts.
