I have 8 kits in waiting, I like to have kits on hand for when I have to put together a quick quilt gift. No thinking, planning to get a quilt kit started.

I don't do kits - I usually don't like at least one of the fabrics. Prefer to put my own ideas together. So, I have none stashed.

If you don't buy kits because you like to choose your own fabric you are missing out on some great fabric buys. The kits are usually from one fabric line. Hancock's of Paducah for example has quilt kits that uses most all the fabrics from one designer line as does Connecting Threads kits. I love CT kits.

I have some that are still aging like a fine wine...I have many, many kits. I won't even go there and count them. Not too many for bed size quilts. Mostly small things, but there are a few bed size ones. I'll get to them someday.

I have 2 kits and 2 BOMs still coming in. I also make my own kits a lot. I have about 5 or 6 of those, and 2 in the process of being put together. I sometimes order a kit and change out a fabric or 2. The one from the kit joins my stash. If I find a pattern in a magazine that I like, I sometimes buy just the focus fabric and fill in with my own choices.
