    Great job. My 1st quilt 20 years old is still not quilted. I was too was disappointed on my fabrics. There just wasn't a pop factor. That said....I think picking fabrics is one of the hardest lessons learned and I think we all struggle with it every time we start on a new quilt.

    I think you did a grand job! So much work goes into a quilt, not to mention all the love. I'm sure she will love it forever. I love that pattern...goes together quickly and looks more complicated than it is. You should really be proud of yourself. Remember to take pics when you give it to her!

    Your granddaughter is one fortunate young lady! Not only does she get a beautiful quilt (what do you mean secret?! you need to be showing it to EVERYONE), but she also has a grandmother who will work with colors she doesn't much like just to make her granddaughter happy.

    I like it just fine. It is a scrappy quilt and as long as she likes it, that is all that matters. I think you did a nice job of it, for your first quilt.
