My husband went to our LQS and helped me choose the fabric for "his" quilt. It will feature a panel with a jaguar. As soon as I get some of it sewn together, I'll post some pics. He's patiently waiting for it so I better get going.

I made a quilt for my husband and you would have thought it was gold. He has a picture of it and many of the other ones I've made on his cell and shows them off. cool I say!

being the husband...I love my quilts...my wife and I have about 10 lap quilts that we all use...the grands use them everyday to nap or build tents or just drag around...when they nap..we get a nap too so they are always handy. We only have 3 of our own larger quilts that we made and kept( for now....our daughter keeps trying to get them, She probably has 30 of them). So make your DH a quilt..I think you will be pleasantly surprised at his reaction

I have been married to my husband for 32 years and I have never seen him take a nap on the couch(we do have one)When he wants to take a nap he gets by into to his pj's and in the bed with the electric blanket on 365 days a year. I asked him about a quilt and he said don't bother I would not use it anyway. He doesn't care for my sewing even though he fixed my room. I believe it was to get me out of his way.

My husband was very touched when I surprised him with a nap blanket. I did an outdoor theme with eagles, fish, pine trees, etc. Try giving him one as a surprise and just watch his expression! Priceless.

the only one I made for my husband I made back in the 90's when I first learned to quilt. We're a Navy family, at the time he deployed on submarines quite frequently (gone most of the years back then) so I made him a rack sized quilt so he could have it underway. He's done with deployments now and I doubt I would make him one again just to have around the house but who knows....maybe!

My quilts for DH have been phote quilts. When he turned 60 I put photos of all the grand kids (9) on a wall hanging and one with his his birth certificate, photos of his folkd and photos of his when he was young.
For his 70th I repeated grand kids (smaller photos) and great grand kids (19 in all). they hand in our hall way and I frequently find him just standing and looking at the photos. Makes my heart sing.

I made a scrappy bullseye for my dh and he takes it everywhere we go, it has soft n natural batting so it is real soft and comfy. When we travel it goes with us and he uses it in the motel room. He keeps it on the ottoman by his favorite chair. He just loves it like a security blanket, I have offered to make him a new one and he doesn't want one.
