    There are lots with a wider "throat" to use when sewing large items such as quilting your quilt. Go to the web sties of Bernina, Brother, Pfaff, Janome, and Viking and you will see what they have to offer.

    I have a Viking 850 and love it. I don't plan on being a longer armer so this one does have a wider throat area than most standard machines. It works for me
