I, too, am working on a BQ2 quilt, and have various other WIP's going on. I really love scrap quilts, and making new blocks. I have a huge, huge library of patterns, and am collecting more. Somedays I just sit for the whole day and go through books and magazines to get inspiration. My sewing time is my own so no rush for anything to be done.

Pardon my ignorance, but what is a BQ2? I am not familiar with a lot of the "shorthand". Thanks.

I like the traditional quilt patterns, but for charity quilts I also do the quick more modern quilts. I love bright colors.

I like bright bright colors in traditional blocks. Then I embellish with some embroidery or beads and buttons.

This is a wonderful question. I'll love to see all the responses. I am really an out of the box kind of person but my time doesn't alow me to be able to study and create original work. THat will be for a future time. Right now I make the good old standard traditional patterns and switch them up with unusual color schemes and creative borders.

the quilt is one of my first designs from 10 years ago, but not my original block. I still have to put the beards on the santas and mariners compass in the three corners to finish! This is far from out of the box but a begining of creativity.

Scrappy - scrappy - and more scrappy. I simply love the way each one turns out whether from blocks, HSTs or strips. They are always different and because they are simple to do they satisfy the need in me to create. One day I will try a traditional quilt but until then it's scrappy all the way.

I like doing the Broken Lone Stars as you can tell by my avitar. Over 1,500 pieces and I hear that there are some quilts out there with even more pieces.

After many years of quilting & trying different styles I have come to realize I'm actually happier doing the simple fast type of blocks & squares, I love scrappy. I love seeing my quilts being used by my family and friends on the ground at picnics, on the floor for a baby, etc. And when I give them I tell them that is how they are to be used. I machine piece & quilt & make them to go in the washer & dryer many times.
