Checkerboard Chain is definitely on my to do list for 2024. I think I’ll use this year’s candy as it comes in. We’ll see.

20 is a nice number of participants. Happy to be here again!

Just catching up on all the exciting posts. We had the wind storm followed by snow. We lost power for 4 days. Sitting by the fireplace was nice, but I am glad the power is back. Unfortunately I had already cut most of my squares, and it was quite dark in the house, but I worked on a hand quilting project and at night a knitting project. For a newbie to this group I am so excited. I have been gathering ideas on what to do with the "candy." I love seeing the ideas posted here. Now back to counting squares to make sure I have enough and a couple extra sets.

Default Turning 2.5" Scraps Into a Log Cabin Quilt

I thought I'd reshare a tutorial I did back in 2016. I made log cabin blocks using 2.5" candies and arranged them in a barnraising setting.

Turning 2.5” Scraps into a Log Cabin Block

I finished this quilt on April 5, 2015, and sleep under it every night.

    Hi Ladies!

just thought I’d share my current birthday candy project! It’s going to be a small throw but this time I’m doing blocks by color theme and then sewing them together!

And I’m making it all on my Singer Treadle machine! Which is so much fun to use!

the 25th of every month is show and tell. So get your photos ready of works in progress whether it’s using our 2.5” candy or not! (I am talking to myself as I need to take photos, send to my laptop, trim and then post)

and we now have two birthdays in February- glad to have JaniceMc back on board

Oh, what a trip down memory lane. I just clicked through all of the pages of comments on JENNR8R's tutorial post. Some who responded as still active on the Quilting Board, some are in this year's swap but sadly many are names I no longer see any more.

LC82, you keep working those legs and ankles making quilts. I really should get mine going. Love the color way blocks. I use them often when my storage bins get too full! Whether you make 3X3 or larger it can eat up 2.5's pretty quickly.

Here is one I made in 2018. I obviously had a few colors to choose from! Donated it to Project Linus for one of their "big kids".
