All those TRIANGLES! Triangles can be my worst enemy or my best friend. I think it depends on the barometer and how much sleep I had the night before. Beautiful blocks Janice.
Hubbie is healing pretty quietly so I’m guessing he’s not in too much pain. Only took one pain pill yesterday. The first day I think I said ‘don’t use your left hand’ a dozen times. He’s doing much better today. Only a couple of reminders and he changed his shirt with no assistance! He’s sending me to the farm store to but a full length arm glove so he can take a shower.

Yea MJP and DH!!
Susie Q- there is always one f8 that is my nemesis. My mind draws a blank or I can’t find the perfect pattern or am not happy with the matching colors. So I put it aside and before I know it (somewhere in the middle of the night) I get a plan!
I got a new binder and plastic sleeves and put away all the patterns I had left out from the spring. I couldn’t locate the star pattern - and finally realized it was in the Carol Doak’s book. Do I made another star with the patriotic fabric…
We got rain and more rain last night. In 80’s and feels great. Dog park was puddles and my Roxy took advantage of rolling and playing this morning. I just had to laugh and give her a good hosing down.

This afternoon All2ieces’ F8s arrived. That’s one more. Woo hoo!
Just back from my son’s birthday party. Omgosh, we had a good time and ate too much. We went to a Caribbean restaurant. Delicious! I think I’ll skip food tomorrow.

GramE, I am glad that your husband is healing well. Keep after him to let his wrist/arm fully heal.
Janice, great blocks! Is the blue & green one called corn and beans?
SBG, the careless look cute.
TG, was it you who mentioned flying geese? Have you tried the no=waste method? It's my favorite way to make groups of 4 flying geese.
We have had a day's break from the rain; thunderstorms aren't due until 9:30 tonight. All you on the east coast, keep an eye out for the hurricane. Stay safe, everyone!

Good foggy morning! We had two isolated thunderstorms yesterday that dumped an inch of rain on us in no time. This isn’t the weather I expect in WNC! My plants are beginning to rot from too much rain. The latest casualty is a Lenten Rose (hellebore), such a shame.
A2P, the blue and green block is from the Around the Block book and the author calls it Broken Windows but she has it shown in two colors. I think the blue piece makes the blocks way more interesting. I also use the no waste method almost exclusively for flying geese. If cutting and sewing is precise, there’s nothing to trim except for the points. Highly accurate. Using the old way, I tend to stretch the bias and get far less accurate results.
Today is a piecing and dog day. We’re watching our grand dog, Henri, a Chorkie for a week. Chihuahua Yorkie. He’s as old as Ernie and while the two of them get along well enough, they’re not what I’d call buddies. They both seem to like having each other nearby but they don’t interact. They both need to go out frequently so we’ve got to stick close to home. Henri gets extra attention here as he doesn’t need to compete for attention with the grand girls. He’s already made himself at home. So while I’m not attending to the dogs, I’ll be doing some piecing I hope.
Time for doggie breakfast. Have a good day.

I am not the best at FG, but a number of years ago silly me made a quilt that was all FG for my son. After weeks of frustration a quilting friend offered her Accuquilt. Cut to perfection and made a HUGE difference. Got the quilt nearly finished in a weekend. Now, I am not selling Accuquilt, but I did recently discover that my local library has a "work space" for patrons to use and they have an Accuquilt with limited dies. I suspect it was donated. But I will consider using it in the future if I need a lot of one basic cut. You might want to check out local sites, senior center, library, community center or other quilting friends. It did make much better FG.

Good Morning, I was chuckling reading GramaE’s post on the gloves, told dh about it and we both laughed.
Last night it rained but didn’t storm unfortunately today they predicted three different nasty storms are headed this way. You never know which ones are actually going to hit your area.
Yesterday I woke up to another nasty rash, this is the same kind that put me in the hospital 3 times in one winter. I have the prescription creams for just such instances but none of the oral meds. Extremely sore and uncomfortable but not frightening as I know what it is.
Al2 pieces love your floral.
WMUT that is great your quilt shop provides a work area and accuquilt supplies. I love my dies for quick blocks that don’t have to measure 12.5”
At the lake we had a progressive appetizer and cocktail event. Cocktails were to be aprox 4 ounces and a single serving appetizer. Last year there were quite a few sweet desert type foods that sat pretty heavy on the tummy. This year there were no sweets, lots of fun foods on a skewers, one gal made homemade rye bread served with cream cheese, pickles and pickled veggies( absolutely delicious and my favorite). Our next door neighbor is quite a character and he and his wife dressed up like Asian chefs and put on a little show of flipping their lowmein on the griddle. Very fun
GramE good to hear hubby is handling his surgery well.
Janice how special babysitting the grand dog. Have to say a Yorkie and Chihuahua mix is a new one to me. Since DD’s pups have both passed on we don’t even have any grand dogs to babysit.
