Hey guys. Just popping in to share my current project. the center of the top is complete and I need to work out the borders. I want to complete the partial hunters stars and make them float into the border, I'm just not sure how, yet. Those bright pastel fabrics are not solids, but with beautiful tone on tone fun polka dots. I just cannot resist dots and spots!

LAF, that is lovely, really lovely. The idea of floating the stars into the border is imaginative and will male your quilt unique.

I finished a block for myself this afternoon. You may see this pattern again, I like making it. One down and you get to make the rest! Have fun.

That's a beautiful Hunter's Star, LAF. Great job, so far!

The rolling wheel is so perfect, WMUT. Very cute block in your fabric.

I'm sure we are all as anxious as I am to see our fabrics! Tomorrow is the deadline, am I right? Then we'll have our packages zipping through the country. So much fun!

Yes, SBG, tomorrow is the deadline and the final package is due to be delivered right on time. My shipping day is supposed to be Tuesday but I’ll shoot for Monday. This weekend is shaping up to be busy but I hope to get everything done a day early.

Lovely block WMUTeach. I’m looking forward to working with your fabric soon.

LAF, wonderful Hunters star! Those colors are ideal. Love it.

LAF gorgeous Hunter’s Star

WMUT great block, love the motion.

HAV congratulations you are all settled into your new home and enjoying it

Gloomy day here. I told dh that next year we are staying in Texas the month of April no matter what. He said yes sure haha you know something always comes up. Sad but true

Pretty excited my oldest dd gave me a bird feeder with a camera in it for Christmas. Hubby plans on installing it once the baffle arrives. Gees Janice I can’t imagine bears in my back yard. You are a brave woman

So excited for the fat 1/8’s to arrive.

Beautiful quilt, I found my block.

I finished my UFO that was on my To Do List for today. Another quilter gave me the top about 75% finished but she was/is suffering with arthritis and gave all of her projects, tools, fabric, etc. away in 2022. I have done several of her quilts and have a few more to go. This was originally a mystery quilt from our group in 2019. I accomplished the machine binding and like Janice, finished is better than perfect. I am getting better at the machine binding, but not perfect by any means.
This is stunning. I love all the 1/2 square triangles

So I dove in to my partial set of F8s just to get back into the swing of things. I haven’t made 12-1/2 inch blocks since the last Boom and my machine was beginning to make noise. It was in for service for a while but I just discovered today that it’s still making a bad noise but happily the thread breaking is resolved. Tomorrow I’m calling Juki Junkies in FL to see if I need to send the machine to them for repair. I should have done that first time around but I was told the place I took it to was the place to go for Juki service. Ummm. Not so much.

I did manage to make a non-wonky star for Moonwork while sweating out each seam. I’m out of practice, too, Moon. Anyway, here it is and I hope you like it. The white is tiny stars.
Great star block

I stopped today at a friend's shop ... she unfortunately has been suffering from extreme dementia for the past several years. Her daughter had a bakery in the "back" part of the fabric shop and is now having to completely liquidate her bakery items and what little bit of sewing stuff was remaining. She had already given the remaining stock of fabric to some charity quilters a few months ago. I would have sworn I knew every item in that shop since I had been going there for over 30 years and often helped during lunch and after work during Paducah Quilt Week, yet the items I found today were some that I knew I had never seen before. Sadly, I had to wonder if the illness had been creeping in for longer than we knew because of all the never seen before items. Her daughter said she kept finding stuff in the strangest of places. I haven't called my friend because of upsetting her ... she lays the phone down mid conversation and has no short term memory now. I guess I'm so sad because I loved this lady like a sister and feel sorry for myself at losing "her". I will keep remembering her as she was and not as she is.
So Sad to see the progression of dementia. My father n law is going through this now. He is constantly asking where his wife is, she passed away last summer.

The stairs are a bit of a workout 😅 but honestly, probably good for me!

Now I’m just (im)patiently waiting for my fabric to arrive so I can start on my BOOM blocks. I look forward to each swap so much… it’s always one of my favorite parts of quilting! 💕

Can’t wait to see everyone’s creations again soon! 🪡💖
so glad you are settled into your new home. Congratulations.

Just back from our Guild meeting. So I took a bag of gifted fabrics I’ll never use for the rehome table. And, can you guess? I came home with three bags of delicious scraps. How on Earth did that happen? Laughing at myself.
I can never pass up scraps. I surely don't need them.

I love this wheel block, it has such movement.

Looking forward to getting everyone's fabrics in my hands to play with. As I wait, I will finish a baby quilt for a friend. I will post soon.
