Our family room (read TV watching room) just happens to be the coldest room in the house. And since DH spends his evening hours there in his big lounger, he appreciates having a nice lap quilt tucked snuggly around him. Since he is almost 6'3", his lap quilts are pretty big. I've made his quilts out of his old shirts and jeans. That way he's instantly bonded with them. 8-)

One of my earliest quilts did turn out so well so I threw on the back of the couch to use. My husband uses it whenever he is cold. I am currently binding a new one just for him. It was an experiment in original design and he liked the color combo so he is going to get it.
Both my SILs have a quilt and love them.
My brothers have all asked for one.

I made my husband a food quilt. He drags it from the bedroom to the couch to nap with. He's a computer programmer and will also cover up with it when he's programming.

Well, I was finally able to piece this together for my DH. I think it's coming along nicely. It's quite large and I'm basically done piecing. It covers most of our king bed.

However, since my DH was in the Navy and sailed around the world twice, here's what I want to do. I'm having him write down all the ports (he can remember) and will embroider the names around the inner sashing. On the outer sashing I will embroider all the ports we, as a couple, have stopped at during our cruises. I don't see a problem in adding ports to the quilt as we continue through life together. He already told me he loves it. Glad I can make my DH happy.

My husband complains about wanting a blanket for winter while watching T.V. He is into karoake so I want to do one for his birthday with music notes all over it and a silhouette of a singer with A microphone. I pick up little bits of note fabric every time I go to either of my two LQS. I don't know how to do the singer yet---I am thinking hard about it.

I made one for my son for Christmas. His apartment is chilly so he has it on his chair and cuddles under it to keep warm when he watches TV or plays video games.
