Hi everyone.......... I am looking for a sugar free cake recipe.
Live in a very rural area and have not been able to find sugar free box cake and I would just as soon make the cake from scratch..... so me first thought was to come here -- seems as though there is always someone here with the answer to everyone's question. Your help would be appreciated.

Offhand I don't think I have a recipe for that, but I'll look. In the meantime, have you googled it?

I have used Splenda with good success, especially with bread pudding. We preferred to use less than the recipe calls for, 1/3 to 1/2 as much.
Hope that this helps - Joan

Pillsbury now has 2 flavors of no sugar added cake mixes - Yellow & Devil's Food. I get them at WalMart. There is no sugar added frostings, but the white wasn't very good - smelled like children's modeling clay. Haven't tried the chocolate flavor.

    If you go to -

    http://www.splenda.com

you will find tons of sugar free & no sugar added recipies. They have a recipe for making a glaze. I have been thinking about trying it only using twice the amount of Splenda in the blender & adding vanilla, some softened butter & a bit of milk to try to make vanilla frosting.

    I don't know about sugar free cake mixes b u t.....
Our diet cake is any flavor (sugur free would be good) 1 can diet soda ie diet Coke or any other flavor. Try your own favorite like chocolate cake with diet dr. pepper or how about diet cherry coke. Any combination that sound good to you. Then you can "frost" it with sugar free pudding and/or sugar free cool whip. Do not add the oil or eggs the cake mix may call for. Just the soda. Yummmmm
