I love to quilt. Actually I should say I love to hand quilt once the top has been pieced. I've always struggled with picking the patterns for the top and the colors now I need help.

I am going to make my sister a quilt for her 50th birthday. She loves what she calls sky blue (I think her idea of sky blue is actually more royal blue). Any suggestions of a pattern that isn't too complex and would work well with just 2 or three colors?

how about the "square in a square" quilt. Easy to do and goes together quickly. You could use the feature color (sky blue) in the center square and then use a couple other colors for the corners. Good luck - be sure to post pic when done!
