I have abandoned the idea of DMC floss because it is so thin. I got some no. 5 Pearl Cotton today.......but........I do not have any needles that will hold it. Does anyone know what size needle I should buy to do this job?

    Thanks

    Anne

Try either a size 22 chenille needle or a size 5 crewel needle. The crewel needle has a long eye rather than a large eye and I find it makes a "neater" hole in the fabric. A threader will definitely help in either case.

Can't see why you can't use pearl cotton! Try it then be sure to let us know how it works. I have used lightweight baby yarn to make big running quilting stitches for decorative effects on baby quilts, and it worked fine. Just go to the fabric or needlework shop to browse for the perfect size/lenth/eye hole for you.
