Hi to everyone! I was introduced to this website a little over a month ago by a wonderful woman that I met at work. In about 5 weeks I'll be moving from Germany to Kansas and I'm hoping to meet a few people in the area to make the transition a little easier.
I started quilting after my mom died about 2 years ago...it was therapy. I'm a first generation quilter, but I've been blessed to have been surrounded by amazing, experienced quilters for the past few years that have helped me through everything. In the past 24 months I went from learning how to rotary cut (no scissors? AMAZING) to free motion feathering on a long arm. I'm looking to try my hand a little more at patterning and art quilts, but for now I'm content continuously trying new techniques.
No kids yet, but hopefully a pet when I return to the states. I've been married to my husband and the army for 6 years and three deployments...did I mention quilting is therapy? I'm also a talker, sorry.
Hopefully I didn't put anybody off. I'm looking forward to spending a little more time on the quilting board and getting to know a few more of you wonderful quilters!
