Desert lover from Arizona
#1
I am not a quilter---YET, that is, but I love reading the Quilting Board. I am from the state of Washington, but have been living in Arizona for the last 5 years. I love it here---especially the desert plants. To think the prickly plant life can have such beauty in its blossoms------!!!!!
I had given up on sewing for lots of years. But now that I have an adorable 3 year old granddaughter, it renewed my interest. She is a little "girly girl," so it is fun to sew for her. My projects draw me closer and closer to quilting. Who knows----maybe one day I'll actually give it a try. I have several quilting friends that inspire me. In the meantime, I will enjoy reading the message board from all of you.
I wrote a reply to the Featherweight Club. I am a lucky owner of one that I have had since high school---47 years. It has been mostly in closets. It wasn't until I started talking with quilters that I found out I own a jewel. Today it went in for a tune-up. Tomorrow I pick it up and give it a try. Can't wait!!! I have owned this all these years and I could have been enjoying it. It was literally "right under my nose."

Hi there from Western Australia. We are a desert country too, and people find it hard to believe that at certain times of the year our desert blooms with wildflowers. I wish you joy with your "find" and I hope you create lots of lovely quilts with it.
