Like some of you, I'm trying to clear out my sewing room. Today I gathered all the bits and pieces of batting I had laying around and decided to make them into blocks approximately 18" by 18". I have a lot of scrap blocks to quilt and want to do them quilt as you go. I also make t-shirt quilts so I had lots of pellon left over and used that to join the pieces of batting. I ended up with 33 blocks of batting ready for use.

What I started with

This is a great way to use pieces of batting. I do the same thing when my basket is full, I piece them and use them for QAYG or wall hangings. Hate to waste anything.

Things are too expensive these days to waste anything, all the way down to the gas it takes to replace them! I feel like that's where quilting got its start, by using up existing things and making something else out of it, and I am proud to continue the tradition! If my leftover batting is too small to sew into a larger size, I put it with my stuffing - works great!
