I'm so sorry about your Dad. Quilt is beautiful. Both my parents are gone. Daddy died of a stroke. Some years before he became really sick, he asked me to make a quilt for his going away... Couldn't do it then but as I saw time passing, I finally did as he asked. Later when Mama became so ill, I did the same for her...... Hardest two projects I ever did....

I plan on giving it to my dad for Christmas. He has Lewy Body dementia and I promised I would make him one and I don't think he has a lot of time left on this Earth.

I love your color combination. A very rich looking quilt.

Love that quilt and your Dad will too. Like others said Go ahead and give it to him now! Let him enjoy it for that much longer! Dementis is such a sad thing to see them go through. I know since our SIL had it and he was just young. Only 40 when we lost him. I took care of him for awhile until it got to be to much for me since I had their baby to look after too. Finally had to put him in a nursing home. So I know what your going through. You will feel better by letting him enjoy the beauty of that quilt now. Prayers go up for you and your family and your DAD.
