Thanks to your recommendation, some free time, and the willingness of an 8-year-old niece and a 50-something husband, we drove the hour to Chester, VT. Dear God! What a stash this place has! room after room after room after room. And you can tell it's run by quilters-- there are quilt kits galore, quilt samples everywhere, and lots of wonderfully compiled rolls of fabrics. Each room is arranged by color or type of fabric (there's an entire room for batiks) and another for civil war, another for flannel, etc. etc...

Will post photos of store later; in the meantime, here's me and ella, and what we got.

Sounds like a very fun place...maybe I can take a road trip...nah...it would be more than an hour!
