My name is Judi and I have been reading the news letter for a couple of years. It's amazing to see the support system you have. I have rheumatoid arthritis so when I started to sew it was very challenging. My Step mom, my cousin and a friend started a little sewing group they gave me a basket of material and sewing supplies. In the beginning they had to thread the needle for me and even cut the material. The very first thing I made was a sock monkey, he came out a little crooked but with personality! Ever since then I have been hooked on sewing. I have good days and bad days, during my good days I sew. I have made quilts for each of my 4 grand-daughters and now I am making one for my daughter. It is an envelope quilt and I want it to be extra special so I am going to try and hand quilt it. I thought about doing a stitch in the ditch but then I don't know what to on the envelope part. Any suggestions?

Welcome from Ohio! What a neat quilt! SITD would be fine, but could you put some kind of quilting design in the larger areas? Just a thought.

beautiful quilt. Are the envelopes functional? (can you put something in them?) If so that might make quilting on them difficult.

I think if you are going to do hand quilting, then you would want it to show. If you do it in the ditch, it will be hidden. Hand quilting is so beautiful, so as almostfree said, maybe in the larger areas to show it off. By the way your quilt is beautiful.

Thankyou everyone,I think a design would really add to it, I will give it a try. The envelopes are not funtional, but that might be a good idea for another one
