The HST's were cut at 9 inches and then I squared them up to 8 inches. I know that's a lot of waste, but I had lots of fabric and didn't want to take a chance on having anything out of square. I also put 4 borders on this quilt to make it fit a queen size bed. Here is the pattern I used:

I just looked at that pattern and your squares are larger than theirs. That's what I really liked about your quilt (along with your color choices)! This has been in my bucket list of quilts to make and when I do I'll use your 8 inch squares. Thanks!
