All I know about this is that it belonged to my husband's great grandmother (cup 'o tea gramma) and that the Singer site dates its serial number to 1899. The serial # is 16328058 and there is a model # of 74 on the motor. Is that the model # of this machine? I know this is the pheasant decal, right? What is the part that shows on the front just down from the hand wheel used for? I have reason to believe this used to be a treadle and was electrified. I thought I found that on -line once but can't find it again. Anybody know more?

Don't know a lot about vintage machines except that I love them and have three of them myself that I use. Just wanted to tell you that yours is a beauty. I've not seen the pheasant decal before and it's beautiful. I know you will get a lot of info from the members on her. Enjoy. patti

I have a pheasant decal machine as well, but my decals are a little more worn than yours. You can use this site (http://www.sandman-collectibles.com/...r-machines.htm) to identify the model of machine you have, but yours is either a 27 or 28, depending on the size of your machine's bed. You have a beautiful machine!

Try this page for info on it, I think it is this one- the pheasant. Scroll way down to "Finish and Decals".

The only reason I knew where this was: I have a model 27 Phoenix that I picked up at GW and had bookmarked it for DH as he is putting a belt on for me.

I haven't started her up - the wiring looks kinda "iffy". So I have asked a friend of mine who re-builds machines to give her a going over and then we will know.
