I made this Double Irish Chain lap quilt as a donation for a charity event to be held on 11/11/11. I used the background and red fabrics from my stash and added the green. Two people who have seen it say it looks like a Christmas quilt.

These are not Christmas fabrics but are Christmas colors. Even if it does look like a Christmas quilt, is it suitable for donation? I appreciate your candid opinions.

(Note that this is only the top--not quilted yet)

Beautiful quilt and very worthy donation quilt. Doesn't look too Christmas to me.

I think it looks pretty good. If it was to be a Christmas quilt, it would have red and green and probably a Christmasey theme. I think it is nice.

I think it is very suitable for donation. I don't think it looks like a Christmas quilt. It's very pretty. Whoever gets it is lucky to have it.

It looks like a Christmas quilt to me, but why would that make it unsuitable for donation? I would LOVE to receive a quilt like that!!!

Keep in mind all the terrific red and green applique quilts of the 1800s; they were never thought of as Christmas quilts. I'd say, discount those who think only inside the box and go ahead with your lovely donation offering. How kind of you!

Christmas or not....what an awesome donation for a charity event. It is a very well made quilt with beautiful colors that just so happen to be "sort of" Christmas colors.
