I have to get three quilts or throws done for my daughters and DIL's birthdays. last year I did Christmas throws for them, this year it is Halloween. I asked for ideas in another thread and kinda started with one and then went crazy on my own. This one will be for my DIL.

Any ideas on how to quilt it? My husband suggested doing just one big spider web. Since much of the fabric has spider webs. Would that work or should I just SID? If I SID I would need to do something in the white part.

I think you husband has a great idea!
Or do more than one cobweb, rather than one giant one.

Perhaps keep your backing plain/light/orange/green ... and do your cobweb in black, so that the work will show on the back side!

I have the same fabric as the other only in white that I was thinking about backing it with. So if I quilt in black it would show. I kind of enjoyed creating something without a pattern. Just an idea in my head. I had to pare it back a bit, it was huge at first. And I think I cut enough 3x6 pieces of the colors to make a king size quilt. I am sure I can figure out something to do with them, LOL.

Very nice job on the quilt

As for the quilting, here is a little spin on your DH's idea, put a spider web in that connects three of the four corners (both upper corners and lower left corner). Then in the Lower Right corner, put a large spider. Not sure if it would work, but worth the thought. I would also stay with the black so it show on the backside of the quilt.

I love this idea and have you ever used glow in the dark thread? Several of my halloween ones have been done that way and it was cool- if I do say so myself :)

Go with the spider web and I might even off-center it.
