Years ago I took a lingerie class and now have quite a bit of nylon tricot left. I'd like to be able to use it up, maybe as a backing for small baby quilts. I vaguely remember seeing these little quilts a long time ago. Has anyone tried quilting with tricot? If so, I'd like to hear about your results. Thanks for any help!

Sounds like it would be tricky. Why not try a block and see how it goes.

Too much stretch for quilting, IMO. And I wouldn't like the feel of it.

In our area tricot is very popular. A fabric store in town carries it in several colors. Must be OK to quilt since so many are using it. I have one that I bought. It was handquilted and slides off the bed.

Nope, I haven't tried to quilt using it but I may have to try after reading this post! What I have done is make pillow cases out of it. They are great! Even my husband prefers his tricot pillowcase to any cotton ones we have.

I love quilting on Tricot. Each one that I have done, has been a whole cloth quilt pattern, and if you go to mandldesigns.com, they have some really cute patterns for whole cloth quilts. You can also find a design on the internet under coloring pages or in coloring books. A baby quilt may be fine backed with tricot, but I have 2, one that my great grandma made and one that my aunt made, and both are backed with tricot and are a pain to keep on the bed.

I love the tricot quilts and am doing one right now for my little granddaughter. I have not tried to machine quilt on it, (my lqs) wants a minimum of $150 for a tricot quilt, so, when I do these, they are handquilted. I am working on two right now for weddings, for some very good friends. I prefer the tricot pillowcases as well.

That would be a problem. Maybe back it with flannel.
