Does anyone use Sewer's Aid on thread for an embroidery machine? I don't know if my Quattro would like it or not. but thread fraying is a big problem right now.

I have been machine embroidering for a very long time. When this product first came out it seemed to be the answer to all thread problems. However technicians soon found out it caused more problems for the machines themselves then it was worth. Just my 2 cents worth.

When I mentioned using this at the dealership, they suggested that I lower the tension on my bobbin. So far lowering the tension on my Brother 2500 from a 4 to a 3 has solved the problem I was having with my thread.

I was told not to use it on my embroidery thread with my Brother machines. I did reset my bobbin tension 1/8 turn. I also changed to the large eye Organ needles. I have very little fraying and then mainly with the deeply dyed colors like red and black.

I would be afraid to use it on modern machines. They can be so finicky about lint, threads, and anything foreign to their design. Would it maybe accumulate on the tension discs and cause problems?
