To me it depends on what "look" you are going for. The white to me gives the statement of quilts in the past, grandmas quilts, etc. The black one gives the statement or "rich colors", bold, dramatic. As you can tell I like the white and black, depending on the look you want. Now you have given me an idea for my old log home......the one with white as a throw for comfort, the black on my bed..........ha........how did you piece the blocks?

My vote would be for the black, my second vote would be red, but don't care for the white, it just doesn't do anything for those beautiful blocks. The black really makes you notice the beautiful colors.

Good idea, but a very tiny pipping of red as suggested. the black with a bit of red will richly frame the squares.
