Thank you everyone! I think I might just give this one to the silent auction for the diabetic kids in july. We will see.

Southpstitches... You are so right! However did we finish these up with so much hard work involved? I love the cutters and mats. How could we ever go back?

Great completion and what I especially like about this quilt is the shadow effect of the trees. Very special quilt and a big hand for finishing it.

awesome..I remember quilting like that! It wasn't that long ago!
as for not using fabric from different era's..hello...scrappy quilts used fabric from every era they could!
since it was never finished, it was never considered a quilt. once any vintage top is completed it is a quilt from that era. So even if you had found fabric from the same era as the original fabrics, unless you left it as a top it would never have been a 1980's quilt..it would have become a 2012 quilt just like it has now! So do not beat yourself up over that. I have a circa 1925 quilt top and should I quilt it, it will become a 201? quilt! A quilt is only as old as the LAST thing done to it! With the exception of adding a label of course.

Looks great to me! doesn't it feel wonderful to pull out an old project and get 'er done? I'm currently working on one I started 6-7 years ago.
