Does anyone have any ideas of how to remove some old glue from a fat quarter? Let me try to explain. A friend of mine received two pretty fat quarters and I think the price labels may have been on them too long. Both of the pieces have about a two inch square of a sticky substance on them, which appear to be glue.

Any thoughts about this would be appreciated.

Thank you,
Lucille

You can try heating it with a hair dryer, then rolling it off with a finger or piece of fabric. Heat softens adhesives used in labels. This is how I usually remove labels as it allows all of the adhesive to come off with the paper. In this case, though, it may not remove all of the adhesive. If so, I would probably move on to using Goo Gone, allowing it so soften the adhesive, then rubbing with a piece of scrap fabric.

Have you tried a little peanut butter?....takes gum out of your hair, so I'd think it would take the adhesive off....just remember to wash it out after. :)

if it is label glue it should just wash out- with a normal washing-detergent.
there are many adhesive removers out there- if trying any test to make sure they are not going to do anything bad to the fabric- and remember- stuff like peanut butter is (greasy!) so you may trade the glue spot for a grease spot.
i would try some spray & wash (or other spray laundry aid) or oxyclean---then wash them- i bet it comes out

I use rubbing alcohol. It kind of dissolves the glue.

What about Goo Gone? I've never tried it on fabric but might work.

Goo Gone or Goof-Off should work.

I would zigzag the edges and throw them in the wash. Th glue SHOULD be formulated to wash out.
