When my husband and I first got married, it was for lots of reasons, we were best friends and did love each other. But after 10+ years...our love is much stronger and more secure. We get along much better than we did in the beginning and I think we've both grown and changed so much...we just go together like Salt & pepper... so we've decided to renew our vows!!!

We'll plan it in the next year...my mom has cancer and I really want her to be there so we will probably have it in the spring or summer.

My son is a pastor and he will be doing the ceremony, which will be very special!! My granddaughters and grandsons will all take part in it too.

We didnt have a church wedding the first time, we eloped and was married on a mountain top. It was beautiful, but Ive always missed the fact that we didnt have a wedding in the church.

Im so excited! Has anyone ever quilted a wedding dress? lol

I have never seen a quilted wedding gown but what about a quilted jacket to go with it?

I've always wanted to quilt the front panel of a dress that had 3 panels in the front...you know, where the bust dart is built into the curve of the 2 side panels. Would be just beautiful in white or beige or pale yellow, pink or blue.

That would make quite a fashion statement! LoL I bet Id make the cover of Brides magazine! Especially if it were a patchwork gown! lol!!

That would be an interesting project, Im not good at sewing clothes, but did sew some MC Hammer pants that turned out well.. lol

I do think a quilted panel on the front would be attractive.

I've seen a pic in a book of a hand quilted wedding dress, it was made by Amy Emms, (The story of Durham Quilting) a UK quilter who died not that long ago.

Watch the movie seven brides for seven brothers the old musical, all through the show the ladies dresses were quilts I loved them when I was a girl and watched this movie and I still love them!

It just occurred to me that you could make a dress out of quilting fabric, white/off white or a combination. You wouldn't have to use batting. And if you wanted to, you could make a cape or a jacket using fancy fabric, lined, but no batting. Good luck with your decision and would love to see a picture once you are done.
