Default Quilted and ready for binding

I machine-pieced, then hand-quilted my first quilt. Here it is, ready for binding. The puckers are to be avoided, right? So in the future, I should try not to have them? (I'm happy with the quilt, just want to know what I should be striving toward.) I'm thinking of also doing a line of piping out of the red material. Am I crazy? I'm a complete beginner, and I'm not all that skilled at sewing in a straight line yet. But I think it would look so sharp with red piping!

Your first quilt? Very nice! I am told that after the quilt is washed that the puckers will blend with puckers from washing it and the quilt police won't notice

Beautiful quilt and pattern, you've done a great job of piecing and quilting. As was stated, when its washed you'll get puckers so a few while quilting is nothing. Keep up the good work.
