Default civil war quilt top

On my DH vacation in Oct we went to the "Threads Across Nebraska" quilt show in Kearney, NE for the first time and had a great time. We will be going again. LOTS of wonderful quilts and vendors. Well DH saw a civil war quilt in one of the many vendors, so he said he would buy the book and fatquarter pkt to make it. WOOHOO. But it was only enough for a lap size and he thinks ALL quilts should be BIG. So dang it (LOL) we had to stop at more quilts shops and find more civil war fabric. So he picked out the pattern and I just completed the top. trying to decide how to quilt it though...........

The bed is in my sewing rm, that my design spot. And as i sew i lay the sections over the bed.

WOW, that is one beautiful quilt. You did a fabulous job making it. Bet it was hard going to all those quilt stores for extra fabric.

Yes it was rough but I took one for the team and did it. LOL The quilt is 7ft X 7ft. Havn't decided if I want a border or just quilt and bind. Each 2 fatquarter (1 light, 1 dark) made 2- 12' blocks. But there was no rm for error in cutting on the light fatquarter as i found out, had to piece some together to finish blocks.

Beautiful...I love the Civil War colors. I'd forget about a border and just quilt and bind it. Fantastic workmanship!
