Default Scissors recommendation please~

Do you have a brand of scissors that you love? If so which ones? I haven't purchased a pair in many, many years and was wondering what is good out there!

TIA-

I love Ginghers...I have a couple of pairs... bent shears and curved embroidery. They keep their edge longer than most and they can be resharpened when necessary. I have another pair that I got for Christmas my first year in high school..many, many years ago and they are still in very good shape. I also use Fiskars because I have tendonitis in my thumbs and I like the spring action of them if I'm doing a lot of fashion sewing. If cutting straight lines for blocks, I use my rotary cutter.

For applique and other hand sewing I love my Ginghers (4" with leather sheath). My pair is about 15 years old and have never had them sharpened. I don't like the larger all metal scissors as they tend to be heavy, My fave larger scissors are the Fiskars soft touch, makes cutting very easy (I have many pairs of large scissors, but I always grab these). Get the best you can afford, they will last forever. And ONLY use them for fabric.

I think Gingers. My husband bought me a set 30 years ago and they are still great.

I do have the small snip Gingher's. I like those. I haven't looked at their larger scissors. Maybe I'll start there and see what they offer.

Thanks much!

Absolutely LOVE Karen Kay Buckley's Perfect Scissors! Slightly serrated edges grip fabric. Flexible handles. Available in two sizes from her website or Google to find elsewhere....some LQSs have them also.

I have one pair of Ginghers. They have animal print handles (I bought them after I acquired my two kitties) and they are wonderful. I only use them once in a while because they are so pretty. I like to just look at them. Mostly I also have several pair of Fiskars that I use regularly.

Diitto on the Ginghers. They're well worth in investment. I've even been pleased after having my shears sharpened several times.

WHEW - I'm relieved to see that just about everyone else has what I have. Ginghers and and Fiskars. I love my Ginghers and they are one of my most prized tools. My Fiskars are good work horses too.

Do wait for a Joann's coupon OR when the scissors go on sale. You can pick them up for a reasonable price!
