Hi everyone. I am new to this forum, but not to quilting! My favorite passtime is crazy quilting. I am addicted to embellishments. Oh yeah, and I love buttons of any kind! I will sit there for hours playing with my buttons if I'm mad at my DH (dear husband) :x
Reading some of these topics, I see this can really be a fun forum. Hope to eventually talk to a lot of you.

Have fun........Mona

Hi Joyce, I'm in Fort Wayne. Where are you? I will show some of my quilts at a later time. I just learned not too long ago how to attach them from my Digital. Thanks for the welcome....Mona

Hi Mona- I used to sit down and play with buttons too! My mom used to have a large glass jar of them. I wonder why I haven't gotten a jar started? I think I'll have to do that-thanks for bringing back the memories. I'm new to the forums too! So far I am loving it. Do you have a favorite button?

Hi Mona,
greetings from Sacramento CA.

Are you doing true crazy quilting with a variety of fabrics and embellishments? They are soooooo pretty.

yes all of that and some really ugly material too!! I tried to start out with a color pattern but I needed the quilt to be a certain size and needed to keep adding on to it-I was running out of scrap material!!! Now all I need to do is add on the buttons and binding-want something different for this so I'm still scavenging!!
My daycare kids think this quilt is beautiful!! It's just like in the olden days where you quilted with whatever you had around. It was kinda fun to do one of those.

My favorite button is a huge white old button. No clue where it originated from, but its my favorite!
I do the true crazy quilting. Right now I am doing a Round Robin Crazy Quilt in another forum. We are having a blast! My theme for my block is "safari". The fabrics I picked are of all types. (satin, silk, suede, leather-like, some zebra fuzzy stuff, snake-feeling fabric etc). When finished, I will be hanging it in my living room which is decorated in safari. We have 7 girls in the RR. I am also working on an all pink, creme, & white memory crazy quilt for my mom & dad. It has pictures of their wedding in the 50's and also when they were dating. I surely will have to post pictures of this, you all will fall in love with it! It is made of a lot of different blocks, and then I will sew them all together at the end to get a size of somewhere in the 60" x 60" vacinity.
I also started a CQ Embellishment Birthday Swap on the other forum. It is soooooo fun!

I'll try and get my quilts posted. I'd love to see both of the quilts you are working on. Especially the one for your mom & dad-that one sounds amazing. can't wait to see it. how long does that one usually take? just wondering.

I had lots of favorite buttons. I was usually fond of the pretty colored ones or the ones that weren't plain and they usually had a pattern to them.
