I am getting one this weekend when they are on sale for 50% off then I get a n additional 10% off for being in a Guild, but I think there is a 15% off entire purchase~Ill have to dbl check.

I switch blades between cutters all the time. And this leads me to wonder. How many blade factories are there? Is it one factory producing all (or most) of the blades? Does Olfa contract with a different factory or different process than Gingher? And it would be fun to find out if Harbor Freight blades are made in the same place with the same process. Just something to ponder on this sunny Thursday morning!

I've wondered this too after reading all the harbor freight threads lately and learning about similar practices in sewing machine manufacture and other industries too.

Harbor Freight blades come from China, I really haven't paid attention previously on where the other brands come from.

What blades from Harbor Freight? They have a couple of different ones.

Blades may fit cutters interchangeably, but notice that the Ofla hub and blades have 3 notches at the hub that line up. I have had cutters wear out at the hub, and I finally stopped using the blades interchangeably. My conclusion is that they work interchangeably, but the situation is not ideal.

I have good luck with the ones sold at Harbour Freight. Lots less than the name brands....
