Default Finally brave enough to show one of my quilts.

I just started quilting in January of 2010, I made this for my Dad's 85 birthday that year. It's a pattern of my own design, it has pictures of his ship in WWII, I listed all the battles he participated in, there's a picture of him as a 17 year old sailor in 1942. The back is a fleece with a Naval insignia. My Dad loved it, I know it's not perfect but it's perfect to him. Thank's for looking.

There is nothing more special than a quilt made from the heart and with heart. Your quilt is lovely and I know your Dad must be as proud of you as you are of him.

If that was your first quilt then you hit the ground running, my dear. The design, layout, fabric choices and personal touches make it look like it was made by a seasoned quilter, not a beginner. Great job!

Oh, my dear!! Your quilt is AMAZING and I'm sure your precious dad was deeply touched by the thought and love that went into it. It's PERFECT!

What a special tribute to your dad's naval career.
