Default How Long Does Gold Leaf Outlining Last on Asian Sytle Prints?

I bought some fabric that has gold leaf outlining and now I am wondering how many washes it will last. The selvage says--"Hanako's Treasures" by Hoffman California International Fabrics. Is this Hoffman fabrics? Why does it say California in the name? I like the heavyweight nature of this fabric and so far it has been really easy to starch, press, cut and sew.

Yes, that is Hoffman fabric. They are my favorites, so rich in colors, and very nice quality to work with. Barely need ironing also. I've been using them for a few years and have never noticed any loss of the gold or silver. They are very high quality fabrics so don't hesitate to use them! Beware though...you will likely become addicted to them! I surely have.

Because that's the full name of the company (headquartered in CA) - seen at the top of their home page:

I have Hoffman fabric w/ metallic from over a decade ago in quilts made around the same time, and washed and dried countless times.
No change in the fabric.

Wow, I am impressed and relieved to hear that the gold will last a long time. That is good news.

I have worked with Hoffman metalics for years... and they get better and more beautiful.... It's one of the highest quality fabrics you can buy.. If you like Hoffman metalics look at some of the Kaufman... just as high quality and some exquisite designs.
