Default New to the group and new to sewing

Hello,

I am completely new to sewing. I have a 2 year old daughter and initially was interested in sewing because I want to make my own cloth diapers/trainers for her. I've been dying to get my hands on a sewing machine and my mother in law lent me a Brother machine (1990s) that I haven't successfully gotten to work so I kind of gave up on the idea. My mother recently gave me a vintage Precision SewMagic machine (1950s I think) that belonged to my great grandmother. It completely reignited the idea of learning to sew for me and I now am determined to learn. I would love to make homemade items for my daughter and learn to quilt.

The machine works, but I don't even know how to thread it properly. Can anyone help me get started?

Thanks!

Do you have a local quilt shop or fabric shop? If you do, load it up and take it to them...I am sure someone there can help you. Welcome from Kentucky!

When you google "how to thread precision sewing machine" many videos come up. Maybe one of those is your machine.

Hi Happi and welcome from California. You might be able to find a manual, etc. for the machine at this website.

"This is an initial list of all the available downloadable sewing machine manuals, service manuals, parts lists and instructions that could be located."
