Default Sad...not going to finish in time for Christmas this year.

Well, this is the 3rd year towards my goal of making each of my family members a winter quilt for Christmas. I must say the intent was "lap quilts" for all, but my baby sister really wanted a bed quilt...needless to say, I'm a sap for my baby sister, so an oversize king it is (you know those really tall pillow top mattress, yep, that's hers 112" x 122"). This quilt is definitely the largest I've ever made, the most stitches ever removed and re-sewn, AND the most shrinkage in a quilt backing. Nope, after washing, the back no longer fit, and had to re-order another one so I could piece it. I thought about trying something creative, but my creativity has left me for the moment and I'm too tired to find it.

Sooooo, after much lamenting and a few sleepless nights, I think I may settle for getting it spray basted and maybe even stitching the center panel, but then its getting wrapped up & put under the tree and I'll finish it after the holidays. I have also decided that I will do next year's when I finish this one, so I don't have to stress next year!

Here's a preview...I have no floor space big enough, so had to rumple it up into the entryway, and of course my little quilt inspector "Bayleigh" had to be in the picture!

Center Panel & first decorative border by Northcott "Winter Whispers Eagle", the rest designed on EQ7.

Such a pretty quilt. Very calm and peaceful looking. Those are nice colors to complement it.

Your quilt is beautiful, but I think Bayleigh wants you to take a break and play with her.

It is beautiful. It will be just as beautiful after Christmas. Put the top in a box and wrap it up with a big red bow.
