Default Sunny Days quilt - finished

I posted a photo of the partially completed quilt top earlier. Here is the completed quilt. I was going to find something different than the crosshatch quilting I usually do, but then I realized if I crosshatched, I could quilt through all the "rays" of the suns and they'd line up. I used a varigated thread in the body of the quilt.

To quilt the borders, I used a variation of a pattern I saw on the 31 Days of a Walking Foot blog. She used double ovals, one inside the other. I used an oval, but overlapped it. It has a kind of intertwining/braided look. I used white thread in the borders.

I love it!! My teenage daughter standing behind me says "Hard Core" means she likes it a lot :-)

I love it! It's such a happy quilt...and the quilting fits it perfect! You did a great job! I'd love to see the back of the quilt.

If you look in the upper-right corner, you can see the backing. I used a green and white plaid homespun. This homespun is soft and feels almost like flannel. It's hard to tell, but it is also the binding. I'm not good at binding, so I often self-bind my quilts.

What a neat quilt! Your sun blocks are really interesting. Thanks for showing us.

Just noticed your location ... I"m about 40 miles from there.
