I made this quilt for my granddaughter because of her love of playing with the old button tins that family members had. She and her brother would play for hours with old buttons and I had a brain storm. I bought two queen size sheets and 2 high loft battings and made my own roll up frame, and marked one sheet every 6 inches in a grid pattern. My mother insisted I put "backer buttons" under each button so they wouldn't pull off easily. I used shirt buttons from the men folks for this and some bought backers. The buttons are from Great-Great, Great, and Grandmothers, great aunts, and any family member that wished to donate. The children had fun choosing which button I would sew on next, it took quite a while, the backer buttons were a pain! My granddaughter loves it!

C'mon Gangles... try again! I want to see that button quilt... obviously not a quilt to lie on for very long?
