Never being one to follow directions  , I took the idea from the Vintage Homestead pattern and I'm splitting it into two different wall hangings - the first for my dining room and the second with the more quilty motifs for my sewing room. This is the first one, pinned for quilting. The border is marked for waves between the sashing blocks, and it'll be bound with one of the dark brown prints - my hope  is that it will mimic the borders around the printed panels.
The original pattern called for all the blocks to be put directly together, but I tried them with the sashing and liked that much better.

I agree, beautiful!!! And I like the idea of the sashing between the blocks, too....the blocks stand out rather than a mish-mash of design.

It's lovely Roben, great idea to split it into two panels.
