Default Has anyone used a ruffle to bind their quilt?

I have used a ruffle to bind a few quilts. I like the look, especially for a little baby girl quilt. What I am wondering is how do you handle when the end meets the start on the binding? I can't use my normal method because I just tuck the end under, which won't work with a ruffle. One time I sewed them together into a loop that was just the perimeter of the quilt. That worked ok, but as you can imagine trying to "make it fit" was a bit of a challenge

Wish I could help you but I have never used a ruffle for binding. Sounds very creative though and I wish you luck with it.

The only time I put a ruffle on a quilt edge, I did the binding as usual then sewed the ruffle on the binding. At the end I folded back and hand stitched the ruffle together.

I've inserted a ruffle when doing the "pillow-case" type of quilt. My ruffles are folded like a bias binding, so I tuck one end into the other with the raw edges turned inside about a half inch and hand-sew the open edge closed.

It 's been a while since I've used a ruffle as binding on the quilt. I believe I just folded under the section that attaches to the quilt. Then the ruffle part, I either just hemmed the raw edge, or did a flat fel seam.

This is how I've done it and it turned out really nice.
