Not necessarily! Singer made some "new featherweights" about 7-10 years ago and they were little machines that were easy tot take to classes, however a friend of mine got one and she didn't care for it and soon was taking another machine. They weren't made for very long and were in a small white case. They did do a zigzag and a few little utility stitches but were not for heavy use.

Wow, what a great deal! Years ago I came home and told DH I was going to start looking for a featherweight (I meant an old 221) and he went out and bought me that year's new model (2002 I think). Silly man! Anyway I also used it in the motor home and it worked good. I know he paid much more for it than you did yours though. I'm now letting my DGD learn to sew on it and will give it to her when she's ready for it since I did eventually find the 221 I wanted. Don't you love a story with a happy ending? I hope you enjoy yours!

I like it, you got a great deal, I would have bought it even though I don't need one, lol. That is why I have so many sewing machines now, I just can't seem to pass up a good deal. It is cut and I bet it will serve your purpose. Enjoy Her and be happy.

I'll bet 90% of QB members would have grabbed it as an extra machine, even those who have "the real thing". You got a great deal, enjoy using it. For $7.50 you can't even see a movie any more and the movie would be over and done in two hours. Hopefully your $7.50 will make you happy for a long time.
