sewing machine extension thing
Do you have an extension to your sewing machine? I have been looking at them online, and I am wondering if I could use one. I used to not have room next to my sewing machine for anything like that, but I do now.
If you have one, and I am not sure that is what they are called, do you like it? Does it make it easier to sew the sandwiched quilt?
Thanks for any info.

I have extension tables because I have Berninas. But the best surface for quilting the sandwich is having my machine set into the sewing table so that it's throat plate is level with the table top. There are lots of ways to do this.

I used to use mine all the time, until I bought a sewing table where my machine sits down into it. That does work the best. But I do still use my extension table when I go somewhere to sew (like a retreat). I also have the Sew Steady brand.

I have a branded one too for my HV. It makes quilting a lot easier. I was really disappointed with my one though until my other half changed the plastic screws/pins in the legs for metal ones. All three legs at the sewer's side of the table snapped at the weakest point. The top is very sturdy so now I have a really useful reliable extension table.

the best situation for me would be to have the machine set down into a table but since I don't have that, I have extensions for three of my machines. Sew Easy is a great brand, but you could also find someone locally and have them custom make you one and it would probably be cheaper...just wouldn't have the ruler printed on it.
