Default What to do when you scorch your quilt gift??? Hang the stockings, add gifts

After my little mini Christmas tree quilt was finished and I added the binding I guess I had the iron on toooo hot and I did a great job of scorching it. The background fabric was some prequilted fabric - I thought, but actually it was embossed to look like it was intricately quilted and it was some kind of polyester fabric which scorched and kind of melted. Well I tried everything possible to get the marks out but nothing worked so finally I just fussy cut some little stockings and gifts and hung the stockings and put the gifts under the tree and up the side. The scorch marks are down under.....down under all the cute little gifts and stockings. It looks real busy but then again it's Christmas.

So...what did you get in your stocking or gift? Just scorch marks....hahahaha

Very cute! I scorched a block in a quilt and ended up having to pick out the block and replace it. I think you did a nice job on saving that cutie.

That is just perfect, you've made a 'mistake' into an even BETTER little quilt!
Talk about making lemonade!!!
I've got to ask... I think the quilt looks like it is under 12" on each side -- so HOW
did you get such perfect little detail on the stockings and the ribbons on the gifts??

I just fussy cut the stockings and gifts from some fabric in my stash. Sometimes I feel a little guilty about buying fabric without a purpose in mind but man was I glad I found this in my fabric closet. It was from a few years ago.
