Default Here's my DUH moment.

One thing that always sounded dumb to me was when someone would write "sew one thread over" when talking about scant sewing. Last night my wife and I were watching "Love of Quilting" when they talked about that briefly. "Oh!" I said out loud, startling my wife. "So THAT'S what they mean by one thread over."

I always thought it meant to move over one thread of the fabric. The way Marianne explained it, I now understand that they mean to move over one width of the thread that I'm sewing with.

How good would your eyes have to be to sew one fabric thread over?

Made my first quilt in 1974 & I never knew it was the sewing thread. I, too, thought they were talking about a thread in the fabric. And, I'm not even a blond!!! Sowwy, sew bery sowwy......(hanging my head in shame & slithering off to my sewing space in the middle of the living room.)

Learned something new today. I guess I am used to Aida fabric for x-stitch, where you sew over fabric threads. Thanks for sharing!

I'm happy that I'm not the only one who thought this.

And I'm really happy that I can send back these glasses I ordered.

All of you made LOL. When I first started using the computer a lot, my daughter wrote to me and said LOL and I wrote back and said I love you lots too.
