Default Help with Western Electric machine please!!!

Does anyone know how to find info out on a Western Electric sewing machines??
I just got one from my in-laws that was in their attic. The serial number is 169664.
I've not been able to find much of anything out, beyond W.E. was only made 2 yrs.
I'd like to be able to find out what its worth for insurance purposes.
    Thanks in advance!!!!
P.S. I will post pics when I get a chance.

We do not do appraisals - when you have to collect insurance it might be up to an adjuster how much something is worth.

there are very, very few older machines that are worth enough that you'd need to list them for insurance purposes. I can almost gaurentee a Western Electric is not one of the few that would qualify.

But pictures would still be nice!

There is one for sale on ebay ending this morning - $129 with free shipping - not takers yet. That may give you an idea what the market value is.

Make sure you get one of those appraisers I always see mentioned on Craigslist and eBay. They always appraise for top dollar.

When I spoke to my insurance guy about insuring my collection he told me that if anything happened such as a fire, flood, etc., that the insurance company would only pay you for the replacement value. And that was only when you purchased the replacement.
