I don't know about it for a ruler, but I am using a piece to keep my foot control from slipping away from me.

I saw that also- I tried it and loved it! Shelf liner is useful for so many things!

I have the no slip rulers, but a little extra insurance never hurts! I'm going to give this a try. I've been meaning to try it under my foot pedal too. That thing just loves to migrate across my floor!

And I'm glad that tips and hints get repeated here now and then. This is a huge forum and sometimes they just aren't seen the first time around.

scrapinmena, I was just thinking about putting it under my sewing machine too, mine moves all over the place when I'm fighting to attempt STID & pushing all that material through my little harp space.

Awesome Tips that I would never have thought of. And I have a couple of rolls of the stuff aswell. I use it when Hatching Chicks, ducks, turkey poults etc to help stop them slipping about after hatching so they are less likely to suffer from 'leg spraddling' so I have rolls of it around ready to replace after each hatching. (couple of monthsI think before I'll be setting up my first clutches of the year.)

The Plate sliding I could do with myself with my arthritic hands so I don't slide the plate over the table when trying to cut my chops lol

This is also great to hold your foot in place. No more sliding away from you as you sew.

If you want it to stay on the ruler, use a little 505 spray.
I also just use the 505 instead of the liner. It doesn't raise the ruler up off the fabric that way. The 505 spray makes the ruler scuzzy looking though.

I have a piece under my foot pedal on hardwood floor also, but it doesn't seem to work.
