Although your 24 year old machine still did a great job, you will be amazed at what new machines can do & how much easier it makes the sewing. Check with shops around you to see if any have a lay away plan and then try out some machines to find one that suits you. A little at a time & before you know it, you'll have that new machine. Plus, whenever someone in the family asks what to get you for birthday, Mom's Day, etc., you'll have the answer!! You deserve good tools to do a good job. AND your quilt is stunning!!

It does remind me of those sherbet colors. Very bright, I love it.

I think you did a great job of it. What was "wrong" with your 24 year old machine that you need a new one? I usually don't believe that, most can be fixed, and I know too many people who have dumped the old machine, bought a new one and wished they hadn't gotten rid of the old one.

A lot of those machines were better built than a new one. Janome makes a decent machine. They still (or until recently did) make the Kenmore machines, so look at the Kenmores too, they may give you some other options.

Your quilt definitely looks like raspberry, orange and lime sherbet. It's gorgeous on that beautiful antique bed.
